When leaders get a new vision or goal, they usually want to get there as quickly as possible. They start envisioning the steps they need to take. These steps are big and bold and, for them, doable. But the steps aren’t always doable for their team. Take time to learn your team’s execution style and temp. You’ll find that some teams can’t make big, bold leaps; they execute better with baby steps.
Work with, not against, your team. String enough quick baby steps together, and you might be surprised how quickly your team gets to the goal.
Make a plan that meshes with the execution style and tempo of your team.
